Nothing on this list will make you fall asleep. What it can do is remove the reasons you wake up: too hot, too loud, too bright, or lying on a pillow that gave up two years ago. Those are environmental problems with equipment answers, which is the only part of sleep we are qualified to have an opinion about.

We have put temperature first deliberately. It is the variable people most often blame on themselves and most easily fix, and it is the reason the most expensive thing here is a rather ugly fan that lives under the duvet.
