Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and how to have it removed. Last updated 10 August 2026.

Who we are

SkinSourcer is operated by LORYN LLC, San Luis Obispo, California. You can reach a person at [email protected].

What we collect

Your email address, if you give it to us. That happens when you join the notify list, send a sourcing request, or apply for wholesale. We do not buy email lists and we do not add you to anything you did not ask for.

What you tell us in a form. A sourcing request records the product, brand and market you asked about, plus any notes you write. A wholesale application records the business details and message you send.

Order information, if you buy something. Checkout happens on Shopify, not on this site. Shopify collects and processes your payment details and shipping address. We never see or store your card number.

Basic technical data. Our host records the usual server information, including IP address and browser type, to serve pages and prevent abuse.

Advertising and measurement

Notice about advertising. This site shares limited information with Pinterest for advertising and measurement. That can include measuring conversions and building audiences which may be used for online behavioural advertising. You can switch this off at any time using the choices below.

We use the Pinterest Tag. When a page loads, it records the visit. When you submit a form, your email address is turned into an irreversible SHA-256 hash inside your own browser before anything leaves the page, so Pinterest receives the hash and never the address itself. We also record when someone clicks through to a retailer, so we can see which articles are actually useful. The tag sets cookies on your device.

How to opt out. Any of these will stop it: change your Pinterest privacy and data settings, use a browser that blocks tracking cookies, or use an ad blocker. You can also email us and we will confirm what we hold and delete it.

Pinterest data. We publish our own posts to our own Pinterest account through the Pinterest API. We do not store information obtained from the Pinterest API, we do not access anyone else's Pins or boards, and we never share or sell anything obtained from it.

Our homepage embeds our Instagram feed. Instagram may set its own cookies when that section loads.

Cookies

Cookies on this site come from the Pinterest Tag described above, from Shopify when you go to checkout, and from a retailer such as Amazon when you follow an affiliate link. We set no advertising cookies of our own. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading anything here.

Affiliate links

The Shelf contains affiliate links, and every one of them is labelled. If you buy through one, the retailer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, and Amazon sets its own cookies when you follow one of those links. Their privacy practices are theirs, not ours.

Who we share it with

Only the services that make the site work, and only what they need:

  • Klaviyo, for the email list
  • Shopify, for checkout and orders
  • Resend, to deliver wholesale applications to our inbox
  • Google Workspace, which hosts our email
  • Cloudflare, which hosts and serves the site
  • Pinterest, for the advertising and measurement described above

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the Pinterest measurement described above.

How long we keep it

Email addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link and it works. People who opt out are removed promptly. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Ask us to delete something and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and a person will answer.

If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, and not to be treated differently for asking. As stated above, we do not sell your personal information.

If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to object to processing and to receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

Children

This site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced to the email list.
