Most skincare packaging is a box for the formula and a surface for the name. Occasionally it is the formula's only hope. Pure ascorbic acid browns in air. Retinol degrades in light. An eye cream in an open jar meets a finger every night for a year. None of that is fixed by a better ingredient list, and all of it is fixed by a different container.

Ten products where the format is the argument. Three arrive as sealed single doses, so nothing oxidises between the first use and the last. Three are refillable, which is partly an environmental claim and mostly a reason the outer case can be better made than a thing you throw away. One is a powder you wet in your hands, so the water never sits in the bottle. One is loose tinted pearls you pick up together on a brush. One is a roller on the end of a tube, for the place fingers do not reach. And one is a capsule you swallow, which is either the cleverest delivery system here or a reminder that the word covers a lot of ground.

A caution worth stating plainly: a good container does not make a mediocre formula work, and several of these cost more because of the engineering rather than what is inside. The ones that earn it are the ones where the ingredient genuinely cannot survive the alternative. Vitamin C is the clearest case. A refillable lipstick case is the least. Both are here, and the difference between them is the point.
